MnemoWords is an independent vocabulary-learning project built to make demanding English words easier to understand, remember, and use.
Why this project exists
Definitions are essential, but definitions alone are easy to forget. MnemoWords gives each word several handles: a concise meaning, a pronunciation-based cue, a vivid scene, a natural example, and a question that requires active recall.
The goal is not to replace reading, writing, or careful study. It is to help a learner cross the difficult gap between seeing an unfamiliar word and recognizing it confidently in context.
What you can expect
- Original explanations written for learners rather than copied dictionary entries.
- Specific usage guidance that distinguishes recognition from accurate use.
- Memory scenes that connect sound to meaning, not just sound to an unrelated picture.
- Corrections when a definition, example, or mnemonic can be made clearer.
How the library grows
MnemoWords publishes vocabulary in small themed collections instead of releasing every available card at once. Each public page needs a clear target sense, original examples, practical usage patterns, a confusable-word contrast, a meaningful mnemonic, and a working recall question.
Software may assist with drafting and illustration, but publication is an editorial decision. A large page count is not treated as a substitute for accuracy, usefulness, or a coherent path through the library.
Who it is for
The library is designed for advanced English learners, GRE and SAT students, avid readers, and anyone who repeatedly encounters words that will not stay learned. MnemoWords is not affiliated with or endorsed by ETS, College Board, or any dictionary publisher.

MnemoWords was created by Seil Kwon, an independent developer building a more memorable bridge between looking up a word and retaining it.
